Br Phap Luu—Talk: Cultivating Happiness with the Compost of Suffering

Brother Phap Luu (Brother Dharma Stream) graduated from Dartmouth College in 1997 before being ordained as a monk in 2003 and as a Dharma teacher in 2011 by Thich Nhat Hanh. He has been active in the Wake Up movement for young people, in the Wake Up Schools initiative, which brings Thich Nhat Hanh’s mindfulness practices into schools, and in leading mindful walking retreats in nature. He helped start the Happy Farm program at Plum Village Monastery, which combines organic farming, ecology, and community living with mindfulness practice. His deep aspiration is to make mindful breathing and embracing strong emotions available to everyone.
