Sister Dang Nghiem—Talk: Cultivating the Landscape of Our Mind

Sister Dang Nghiem (Sister Adornment with Non-Discrimination) was born in 1968 in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive. After immigrating to the U.S. and living in various foster homes in her teenage years, Sister Dang Nghiem went on to earn a Doctor of Medicine degree from UC San Francisco School of Medicine. In 2000, Sister Dang Nghiem ordained as a nun in Thich Nhat Hanh's tradition. She has since published two books, Healing: A Woman’s Journey from Doctor to Nun and Mindfulness as Medicine: A Story of Healing and Spirit. She has worked with many teenagers and young adults, helping them heal from past trauma and abuse.
