Br Phap Dung—Guided practice: Cultivating Gratitude for One's Community
Brother Phap Dung (Brother True Dharma Embrace) was an architect and designer before becoming a monk in 1998. He helped to establish several U.S. mindfulness practice centers in Thich Nhat Hanh’s tradition, including Deer Park Monastery in Southern California. As a senior Dharma teacher, he has led mindfulness retreats in North and South America, China, Hong Kong, India, Bhutan and Germany. He was part of the delegation that represented Thich Nhat Hanh to bring a spiritual dimension to the pivotal COP21 climate conference in Paris. Brother Phap Dung is passionate about helping people restore balance with themselves, their families, society and Mother Earth, bringing mindfulness especially to young people and to students in schools. He enjoys the challenge of building community as a method to heal and transform society.
