About the Presenter, Sharon Suh
Sharon A. Suh, PhD, is Professor of Buddhism at Seattle University and Associate Dean of Faculty Scholarship at Strategic Initiatives. She is current president of Sakyadhita International Association of Buddhist Women and author of Being Buddhist in a Christian World: Gender and Community in a Korean American Temple (UW Press, 2004); Silver Screen Buddha: Buddhism in Asian and Western Film (Bloomsbury Press, 2015); Occupy This Body: A Buddhist Memoir (Sumeru Press, 2019); and Emergent Dharma: Asian American Feminist Buddhists on Practice, Identity, and Resistance (North Atlantic Books, December 2025). She is a certified teacher of Mindful Eating-Conscious Living and trained in trauma-informed yoga.
